Had bad experiences before.
Money borrowed is never returned. Considered like a gift.
And there's always someone in the family needing money - Uncle sick, etc..
And this was an educated girl who went overseas for university and was from a rich business family...

that's what i've been hearing too. but there may be the odd exception. one way is to say that you have this money commitment here and money commitment there. tell her upfront money is very tight with you. you can provide a comfortable life for her and yourself but not anyone else. if she drops you like a rock, you'll know straightaway. all the best.

Many gals Thai beri sad background. Been there talk to locals a lot... sometimes cannot blame girl because Thai economic situation and living bad.
But from experiences people, many many Thai married go back to ex husband in end so beware.

i agree with ddog, the nationality doesn't mean anything. as long as the girl loves you.

when u marry a foreigner, it means to adapt to each other, that includes the tradition, culture and lifestyle. both persons come to some consensus naturally or by speaking out in the 3 aforementioned items. i believe if you love her deep enough, u wouldn't mind the traditions some of the bros advised here as your burden.

so ask yourself if u love her deep enough.

to avoid been carrot chop, don't show hand yourself to her so early. this applies to any girl especially if u are really rich. the average joes have nothing for her to chop, so maybe no need to be so afraid.
