Hahahahaha....no disrespect intended but as with most other things, whether it is 30 minutes, one hour, two hours, or more or less is a matter of preference and also depends on circumstances. If you have got nothing else better to do, then 2 hours or more might be reasonable but if you already have a planned time schedule ahead of you then you would want a confirmation or otherwise from the ML ASAP.
For me, I try to choose more than one ML at a time, eg, 3 MLs that I would like to try. I always give them at least a couple of hours advance notice. I then send out multiple messages. I will usually take the first ML that responds positively. If the 2nd or 3rd ML respond later, I will politely tell them that I already booked another ML and will look for them another time. My time limit is usually 30 minutes. If all 3 MLs don't reply within that time, then I go look for others lor. I believe that so long as you give sufficient notice to the ML, whether you are going or not, you would have done your duty. I never fly aeroplane on any ML, but alas, a couple of MLs fly aeroplane on me
