true.. obike needs deposit too so that weeds out some of these bo liao folks. Then they also track the account which last unlocked the bike; so a bit hard to abuse the bikes unless someone really throw into car and drive elsewhere to wack the bike.

that said, all these incidents won't hurt ofo.. they are expanding so aggressively.. can claim 2 billion valuation back in april.
