Over the years I have had to custom add features in an attempt to keep it up to date. However these upgrades are cobbled together with very basic features and do not have the power and flexibility that modern platforms have.

Images and videos hog a huge amount of resources and I therefore have to keep things simple otherwise the server will come to a grinding halt.

I could upgrade the whole forum and import members to the new platform but features such as the reputation system are unique to vbulletin and cannot be transferred. It would mean that everyone starts from scratch again. Those who have worked hard to gain points would not be very happy about that.

The forum is losing money monthly. Last year alone it lost $40,000. This year I dare not look. The reason is obvious.... border closures kill supply and lockdowns kill demand. Revenue has dropped by more than 80% while overheads have gone up instead of down due to the constant need to register new domains to circumvent the bans.

Hopefully things will turn around by the end of the year. In the meantime every cent helps.
