I want to share this poem I wrote for my ex for Valentines Day but didn't give it to her:
I wished for your love on a shooting star
and didn't think my wish would get too far
Then you opened your heart and let me in
that's where this crazy love story begins.
Six years together we had till last fall
It seems to me like we've been thru it all
And now we’re apart on opposite ends
with so much love but alas only friends
How did we let everything go so wrong
when the connection was so very strong?
Your love’s like poison, did I tell before
a poison so strong, my heart hits the floor
You wanted a break, time and time again
but you’re always back after much bargain
Now I'm afraid our fate’s finally sealed
You’ve closed the door on this relationship
My time with you I will always cherish
but with time those memories will perish
As hard as I try, it'll never be
that I make you as happy as you make me
Tell me dear, how to mend a broken heart?
For my entire world has fallen apart
How do I find hope in a brand new day
