TS, you are seriously KCed bro. Do you really know what you want out of this? I sure as hell didn't know what I really wanted when I was KCed. Only thought that went through my mind was that I wanted to be with her. You need to take the first step to snap out of this otherwise you will be in for a long and tough ride bro.

Some people may take a short while to recover, whilst some people may take a little more time. Most important of all is that you snap out of this.

I had a chat with a WL once and we were talking about her Singapore boyfriend. They were together for 4 months at that point in time when I spoke with her. It seems that she really liked him from what she said. There was no reason to lie to me as I don't know that guy from Adam and she knows well enough that I was not interested in her.

She told me that even though the two of them have feelings for each other, she knows as a fact that their relationship is merely temporary and will only last so long as she remains in Singapore. Once her time in Singapore is up, she will go back to China. Contrary to popular perception, not many PRCs are that keen on having a pink NRIC nowadays.

If you are lucky enough to meet one who wants your company and not your money, it is still not a good idea to allow yourself to get caught in the KC trap. These WLs are far more practical and realistic than most of us. They know that there is little chance of a happily ever after. Their mantra would be to enjoy the moment and let it go when its time to say goodbye.

Even if the girl really likes you, given the nature of their profession, they will build walls and defences around themselves to avoid being hurt. After all, whatever relationship you may have is merely temporary.

My own take is that the more a WL says she loves you or words to that effect, the lesser you should belive these words of affection. If she really likes you, all the more she will not say such words. It is part of their defence mechanism.

The WL I mentioned earlier who has a Singaporean boyfriend, I've overhead her talking to her boyfriend on several occasions. Never once did I hear her say mushy mushy things to her boyfriend. But after each conversation over the phone, I noticed that she has a sweet smile on her face.

By comparison, there is this other WL I met before who would tell her Singapore "boyfriend" all kinds of sweet mushy things. The moment she hangs up the phone, she has a look of disgust on her face. Poor guy probably went away thinking that his WL really loves him so.

Conclusion:

1. Don't take things at face value. Things are never what they seem.

2. If the WL is really nice and loving to you, its probably part of her great acting skills.

3. Even if the WL has any feelings for you, she knows that when the time is up, it would be adios amigos and thanks for the memories. Send me a picture postcard from LA.

4. Being far more practical than we are, they will be able to protect themselves. If you try to break through their defences, it would be like bashing your head against the brick wall. Why would you want to do something like that?

5. Let it go, before it eats you up like cancer. Just enjoy the sweet memories.
