They'll 'punish' smrt n temasek by fining them for all the breakdowns.

If no money, you think smrt or temasek will go bankrupt? Haha. Dream on la. Smrt will go to red lor but business as usual

As if punishing them by fining them would help. It still does not solve matters . The same people are still incharge of running the service.

Let the 30% punish them by putting skewers through their balls/boobs and BBQ?

I got say it'll help ma?
They've got to be seen to be doing something.

If its NOT a maintenance problem, if smrt is run by outsiders like tower transit, they'll definitely kaopeh kaobu cos its not their fault, why fine them?
So why u think smrt never kaopeh?
If its maintenance or process problem, then of cos desmond should b sacked by now.

And if foreign media ask, they'll say sacking desmond n kuek won't solve problems. Anyway they need them to solve problems. So no sacking.

if Sporeans or Wp ask, they'll say SHUT UP. or ill sedition act u or use contempt of court on you.

I say before liao.

To get immediate ASAP response from smrt, sporeans should sue smrt after every breakdown.

If one year they lose 100 million, desmond will get heart palpitations after every breakdown.

Also they should insist senior director level smrt n Lta n mot staff turn up at every breakdown. Wearing name tag n appointment. And not fcuking hide n let station manager take the blame

In overseas, the Americans n europeans will fcuk these idiots without using vulgaritys or screaming.
After a few times, the director go down will also pi pi chua

SINGAPORE - Service on the Downtown Line was disrupted on Tuesday (Oct 4) morning due to a platform screen door fault which occurred at the Sixth Avenue station.

A picture tweeted by a commuter showed a dislodged platform door with cracked glass.

Train service was halted between the Sixth Avenue and King Albert Park stations and free bus service was provided by SBS between the Botanic Gardens and Beauty World stations.

Commuters tweeted that they had to wait up to 20 minutes for their train and large crowds amassed along the line at stations like Bukit Panjang.

Bukit Panjang LRT may be scrapped: SMRT company blog

Published 1 hour ago

Christopher Tan

Senior Transport Correspondent

SINGAPORE - Rail operator SMRT Corp and regulator Land Transport Authority (LTA) are deciding what to do with the problematic Bukit Panjang LRT, including scrapping the system altogether.

In a company blog, SMRT Trains managing director Lee Ling Wee said a joint team is reviewing the future of the system with a view to giving it a major overhaul.

"It will be more than just a makeover," Mr Lee wrote, adding that the 17-year-old system is near "the end of its design life".

He said there are three options on the table.

A fussy LRT system in need of overhaul

One, to deploy self-powered autonomous guided vehicle on the existing viaduct.

Two, build a new LRT system with significant design enhancements in key infrastructures such as power supply, signalling, rolling stock, tracks and stations.

Three, to renew the existing Bombardier system with a more updated signalling system - allowing trains to be tracked more accurately, and to ply at a higher frequency.

your post got no standard la.

Wat sporeans should b asking is why so fast obsolete?
Lrt is free one meh?

Knn. This like using a horse carriage on the track.
Now they discovered its obsolete, got problems n have to invest millions to rectify situation. Not to mention greatly inconvenient the residents.

The cb media should ask Who is responsible? Who should b sacked for making lousy decisions in the first place!

If SMRT can't even handle LTR how can you expect them to handle MRT ? No wonder so many breakdowns . Are they going to form a committee to look into all these breakdowns ?
